Information, not advice
The site describes what Step Function does. Nothing on it is an offer of services, and nothing on it is legal, regulatory, financial or investment advice. An engagement starts only with a signed scope.
Do not act on what you read here without checking it against your own facts, and with your own advisers where the decision needs one.
The tools
Both tools are free and are offered as they are. They are aids to a conversation, and a result sent to you by email carries the same limits as the result on the page.
The EU deadline checker
The checker reports which ingredients on a list are named in an EU cosmetic rule with an application date still ahead, and that date. It reports dates, not compliance. It does not say whether a product may be sold. It reads names only, so it does not know the concentrations in your product, its product type or how it is used, and each of those can decide whether a rule catches it.
The register behind it was built on 2026-09-18 from the English consolidated text of each Commission regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products. Rules adopted or amended after that date are not in it, and a name printed differently on your pack may not match. Check every result against the text of the rule.
The retail readiness diagnostic
The diagnostic scores the answers you give against a fixed set of questions. It is not an assessment of your business, it is not advice, and it does not predict any retailer’s decision.
Intellectual property
The text, design and 3D scenes on this site belong to Step Function. You may quote the text with attribution. You may use the tools for your own business. You may not republish the site, or offer its tools as your own.

Acceptable use
Do not use the site to send email to an address that is not yours, do not try to overload it or get around its limits, and do not use it to break the law. We may block a request that looks like abuse.
